Personally I believe the WG destroyed that ancient kingdom ( the one in the void century), that history got passed down in the form of poneglyphs and oral tradition, and eventually for ultimate safety, in the form of the whole will of D ( middle name is D.) The gorosei are the descendants of the ancient leaders of the world government, and Dragon was told by his grandfather about the history. Garp was not told about this, because he showed huge tendencies to join teh marines, and with that knowledge, Garp could understand the secret and help wipe out knowledge of the void century.
So when Dragon was old enough, his grandpa ( garp’s father) told him of the history, and eventually dragon formed the revolutionaries, hoping to eventually overthrow enough monarchies and create a revolutionary army big enough to overthrow the world government itself, hoping to unite the lands of the the grand line and blue seas ( north blue, east blue, etc).

1. it says in the manga that (if you read) that white beard died, but his body refuses to bow down
2. haki(from facts that i think it is) is the power of removing the devil fruits powers as which you have seen that when luffy was fighting the snake sisters their attacks hurt him, which wasn’t normal. they were haki users, and they had many powers like the haki to read the moment of what i think can only be used on devil fruit users. and if you notice with the admiral kazu and the vice captain of gol D. rogers crew is that the captain was using a normal sword but even could deflect kazu’s sword of light but you may ask how is that possible wouldn’t it the normal sword just break… but i think the vice captian just stored haki in the sword so that it could not break and could fight equal with kazu and if you noticed that the vice captain could just kick his leg and be as fast as kazu which has the logia type of the speed of light that just proves my theory more because he used haki make him self fast so that he could do that.
